I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who pitched in to get our Club ready for the season.
Our dock crew hit the ground running the first Saturday in April (4/4), getting the "Main Run" in ahead of schedule. The following weekend (4/11), it was all hands-on deck to navigate pulling heavy chains from the mud and completing the install. Not to be outdone, the grounds crew started early to sharpen up our outdoor spaces, while the clubhouse team worked tirelessly to ensure the interior and kitchen were in top shape. Of course, none of this would have been possible without our food prep volunteers, who kept the energy high with great meals.
The following Saturday (4/18), a great group of volunteers gave up another weekend to help prepare the club and docks for the season. As noted above, it’s clear that there is far more work involved than just the scheduled Docks-In and Docks-Out weekends. Fortunately, a dedicated group of members consistently steps up to ensure these important tasks get done. It would be great to see a few new faces join in when the next call for volunteers goes out.
Whether you prefer high-tech or old-school, tracking your volunteer hours has never been easier!
Log hours on the go: The VicNet mobile app is available for nearly instant tracking right from your phone. Please remember that each membership unit uses a single shared account.
Need a hand? Tony Chromczak will send a link to anyone interested in using the app, and he is happy to help walk new users through the setup or answer any questions.
Prefer paper? No problem! Paper tickets are still available for logging your time.
Whatever method you choose, please make sure to log your hours so we can celebrate the incredible work you do!
Sustainability and Facility Reminders
We’ve noticed a significant and concerning spike in our monthly electric and utility bills. To help keep our club’s overhead manageable, we’re asking every member to be more mindful of our shared resources. Please double-check that porch lights are switched off during
daylight hours and ensure all faucets, including the mop sink, are tightly shut to prevent wasting water and energy resources. Additionally, a reminder on plumbing: Flushable wipes are not flushable in our system (they should not be flushed into any system). They cause costly damage and backups. Members will find dedicated waste containers in the restrooms for wipes and any disposables besides human waste and toilet paper. Please use them and avoid flushing things that have caused backups in our system. Let’s all do our part to keep our facilities running efficiently!
