CPR Training Opportunity for AYC Members

16 Jul 2026 15:19 | Anonymous

Three spots have been reserved for Albany Yacht Club members in a free CPR certification course offered by SUNY Adirondack. Having more CPR-certified members helps ensure we have qualified volunteers available to meet pool safety requirements throughout the season.

Course Details

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider – CPR/AED & Stop the Bleed (2-year certification)
    Friday, August 7
    1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    SUNY Adirondack Saratoga
    Free for participants

This course is open to adults 18 and older and is funded through the New York State Department of Health's Healthcare Education and Life-Skills Program (HELP).

The training is also ideal for coaches who need CPR/AED certification. New York State requires all interscholastic coaches to hold a valid in-person CPR certification before the first day of practice. Online-only courses do not satisfy this requirement.

How to Register

If you would like one of the three reserved spots, email AYC member Jen Pettis at jpettis@nycap.rr.com no later than noon on Monday. If you do not receive a confirmation from Jen, please send her a text at 518-368-9090.

SUNY Adirondack is holding these three spots for AYC members only until Monday. Please register only if you are certain you can attend, as these are the final three seats available.
